This is where I’ll put my tips from time to time.

Tip #1

Now would be a good time to buy a load of mushroom compost and let it cure over the winter months. This will allow any soluble salts to leach out.

Tip #2

Clean and organize all your tools for compost making. Start buying the tools and things you don’t have so you will be ready for the new season.

Tip #3

Minimize your use of our landfills during the cold months by using a compost crock or pail in your kitchen, or the Bokashi System, in conjunction with a back porch compost tumbler.

Tip #4

Do you have a problem with a cat litter box or dog feces and don’t know what to do with the “stuff?” You can set up a second wormery just for dog feces and cat litter box trash. Worms love it and you can use the resulting worm castings in your ornamental garden.
